Types of Transactions

The four main merchant account types will be determined by the type of business you own and how you process your transactions.

Retail / Restaurant

Sales are typically performed face to face at a retail or commercial location with a credit card terminal.

Mail Order/Phone Order

Catalog, direct mail, phone, fax, or mail orders. These transactions are usually typed into a terminal or accounting software for processing.

Wireless Terminal

Products or Services that are delivered on site may be entered via swipe or typed into a wireless device. This can be a standalone Wireless Device or through an existing cell phone. Smart Phone Transaction Processing is achieved with a small plug in peripheral for an existing cell phone, smart phone, or pda.

Internet Merchant

Does your web site shopping cart e-commerce solution allow you to take credit cards online? This typically requires an online transaction gateway.
